Coming to a Classroom Near You!

This year’s Bankers in Schools program is scheduled for November 17-21, 2025.

The week-long Bankers in Schools program is an annual tradition inviting schools from across the state to welcome bankers into their classrooms in order to teach a 45-minute lesson on budgeting and financial literacy. Volunteers are trained and guided using a thorough curriculum and will come prepared to teach the unique and engaging activity, designed specifically for school-aged students.

Local bankers across North Carolina volunteer their time. Teachers and schools of all grade levels are welcome to request a presentation, with lessons tailored to age-appropriate financial concepts.

Each lesson centers around an exciting, interactive game designed to explain the basics of building a responsible budget. Download and print the following materials:
Most sessions last between 30–45 minutes, but the program is flexible. Teachers can work with banker volunteers to adjust the time or format to best fit classroom needs.
No. Bankers in Schools is provided as a free public service by the NCBA and its member banks.

Teachers and administrators can request a banker visit through the NCBA website. A volunteer banker from the community will then coordinate a time to visit the classroom.

Once school sessions are locked in, volunteer signups will open to bankers.
Students gain practical financial knowledge from professionals who work with money every day. The game-based format makes the lessons fun, memorable, and easy to apply in real life.
Banker volunteers build stronger connections with their communities, inspire future generations, and showcase the important role banks play in everyday life. It also provides bankers with meaningful opportunities for service and leadership.
